Waddle Dee (ワドルディ) is a recurring character and species in the Kirby series, first appearing in Nintendo's 1992 game Kirby's Dream Land. A small, round creature with short limbs and a tan face, Waddle Dees are generally peaceful and friendly inhabitants of Dream Land. They take on a variety of roles throughout the series, appearing as common enemies, townsfolk, workers, and occasional allies to Kirby. While ordinary Waddle Dees are usually harmless, individual members can wield weapons such as spears and parasols, with some serving as guards or warriors.
