Totoro
Totoro (トトロ) is a massive, gentle forest spirit created by Hayao Miyazaki for the 1988 animated film My Neighbor Totoro. His name comes from Mei's toddler-like mispronunciation of the word "troll". This large, furry creature has a peaceful, mysterious nature and magical abilities, including helping plants grow. He lives within an ancient camphor tree and forms a magical friendship with young sisters Satsuki and Mei. Although he never speaks, Totoro communicates through his expressions, gestures, and playful interactions with the girls. He is also closely associated with the magical Catbus, which he rides alongside the sisters.
