Squirtle (ゼニガメ) is a Tiny Turtle Pokémon designed by Atsuko Nishida for Game Freak, first appearing in the 1996 Pokémon games. It has a blue body, a hard brown shell, and a curled tail. Its shell provides protection and allows it to withdraw into its body when threatened. Squirtle is a Water-type Pokémon capable of swimming and using powerful water-based attacks, including spraying water from its mouth. It evolves into Wartortle and eventually Blastoise.
