Rilakkuma (リラックマ), created by San-X designer Aki Kondo in 2003, combines "relax" with "kuma" (bear). A mysterious bear in a soft brown costume, he suddenly appeared in office worker Kaoru's apartment and settled into her home. Laid-back and fond of relaxing, Rilakkuma spends much of his time lounging and enjoying his favorite foods, including pancakes and dango. He rarely speaks and happily lives alongside Korilakkuma and Kiiroitori.
