Piplup (ポッチャマ) is a Water-type starter Pokémon introduced in Generation IV (2006) by Game Freak. Resembling a small blue penguin, it is proud, strong-willed, and somewhat stubborn, often refusing help because of its pride. Despite its independent nature, Piplup can form strong bonds with its Trainer and friends. It is capable of using powerful Water-type attacks and communicates through its distinctive cries.
