Peko-chan (ペコちゃん) is the iconic mascot created by Japanese confectioner Fujiya in 1950. She is an eternally six-year-old girl with a cheerful and energetic personality, recognizable by her pigtails, ribbon, and signature tongue-out expression. Her name comes from "beko", a Tohoku dialect nickname for a calf. A lover of sweets, Peko-chan became closely associated with Fujiya's confectionery products, particularly its famous Milky candy.
