Moana (モアナ) is a Disney character from the 2016 animated film Moana, created by directors Ron Clements and John Musker. Her name means “ocean” in several Polynesian languages. The daughter of a Polynesian chief, she has curly hair and typically wears a red crop top and patterned skirt. Courageous, determined, and adventurous, Moana is chosen by the ocean to restore the heart of Te Fiti. She journeys across the sea with the demigod Maui and embraces her heritage as a wayfinder.
