Meilin "Mei" Lee (メイリン・リー) is a 13-year-old Chinese-Canadian student created by Domee Shi for Pixar's Turning Red. Nicknamed "Mei-Mei", she is a bright, energetic, and confident girl living in Toronto with her protective family. A devoted student who helps manage her family's temple, Mei struggles to balance her responsibilities with her desire for independence, friendships, and her love of the boy band 4*Town. After inheriting a mystical family trait, she transforms into a giant red panda whenever her emotions become intense. Through the support of her friends and family, Mei learns to embrace every part of herself.
