Kogepan (こげぱん) is a burnt bread character created by Takahashi Miki for San-X in 1999. Charred from being overbaked, he is known for his pessimistic outlook, low self-esteem, and gloomy sense of humor. Feeling rejected after being burnt, Kogepan spends much of his time complaining about his misfortune, drinking milk, and commiserating with other burnt breads.
