Created in 2019 by San-X, it is known for its distinctive appearance where its black markings appear loose and slumped, giving it a humorous, underpants-like (pantsu) look. Hamipa is portrayed as laid-back and unbothered, preferring a slow, carefree lifestyle and often acting in ways that defy typical panda behavior—even frequently escaping from the zoo.
