Furuhonya Kani-chan (古本屋 / かに) is a character from Chiikawa created by Nagano. A hardworking and dependable bookstore employee, she was initially introduced as a relatively ordinary background character before developing a distinctive appearance associated with a crab-themed head accessory gifted by her friend Momonga. Kind, honest, and well-prepared, Kani-chan often serves as a patient and sensible companion to Momonga's more impulsive antics.
