Flounder (フランダー) is the loyal and devoted companion of Ariel in The Little Mermaid. Despite his name, he is a brightly colored yellow-and-blue tropical fish rather than a true flounder. Gentle, timid, and easily startled, Flounder often worries about the consequences of Ariel's curiosity and adventures. However, his unwavering friendship and concern for Ariel consistently give him the courage to stand by her side when she needs him most.
