Beast (野獣) is a selfish young French prince transformed into a fearsome beast by an enchantress as punishment for his cruelty and lack of compassion. Bitter, short-tempered, and ashamed of his appearance, he isolates himself within his castle while fearing he will remain cursed forever. Despite his immense strength, his growing bond with Belle gradually rekindles his kindness and compassion, inspiring him to become a better person.
